Yes, the much promised painting was finally finished today and every time I finish a big painting like this one I just want to hibernate (like after the adrenaline rush from April exams).
I think it's one of my best oil work up to date considering I don't really do a lot of it in the first place. But what makes this piece special to me is that it is most dedicated to Thao,my best friend/uber weird sister, who passed away about a month and a half ago.
Before anyone can say that you're sorry for my loss, don't. Nothing loved is ever lost.
She left me with more than you can possibly imagine. Obsidian Reflection may be the last piece she saw me start on, but it won't be the last piece you'll see me finish.

UTTERLY AMAZING.
Had to be one of my favorite shows I've ever seen, and not just because his work is out of this world, but the way he creates an atmosphere and uses the space appropriately.
I heart him as well.

He's amazing.
I wish I had the patience to make my work as cohesive as his... and you're right- he creates a world for each character in each painting/drawing. Each one has a world that sucks the viewer right in. I love it so much!
